Another year has come and gone and another decade of OMG's, WTF, and LMFAO's is in our footsteps waiting for someone that loves everything celebrity gossip and political insanity, like me, to comment on it and for no one in the world to read.
But before I began to throw my unique take on 2010 I want to give my thoughts on what happen in 2009. I thought that aside from telling you the shocking stuff I want to tell the stuff that inspired me and much of the world so here it goes:
#10: The Jersey shore.
In the history of the media putting offensive representations of various ethnic and racial groups in order to make it look like all Mexicans wear sombreros and have too many kids or all black men are the devil, this show as taken what some knew about young Italian-Americans (also known as Guido's) living in the New York and New Jersey area and magnified it to such an extreme that part of me doest really care if people think I can fit my entire family in a car. Now if I only knew how drive a stick.
#9: Jon and Kate plus 8.
People do me two favors: one, do not have a total of 8 children and put them on T.V. but if you must, two, do not act like your own kids and don't look like or act like a kid with his wee-wee stuck out of his pants or a girls that like to lift up her dress a little too much and devastate 8 precious souls that had nothing to do with you behaving like a bunch of sophomoric douche bags. And Kate if you want to interview yourself please don't drag a "nobody" reporter to "interview" you, I’ll be happy to sit down and let you run the show. It's OK I'm used having other people use me for their selfish bullshit just to satisfy my need for attention.
#8: The governor and the Argentinean Reporter.
When we think of a trip to the mountains to "relax", we think of the beauty they have for whom ever likes that weekend in the mountains shit, not a romantic rendezvous with an Argentinean reporter that you fell in love while being MARRIED. And here is the kicker: this is the pro family values, conservative republican some hinted to be a front runner for the presidential ticket. Here a tip: stay faith full people, cause were not only talking about a failed marriage but worse, a failed political career.
#7: You want me to teabag what!!!
In the wake of one of the most glorious wins for the left and a new era in politics as we know it. A group of mostly white, old, conservatives, fueled by FOX news and the conservative blogger sphere( I forgot to mention that they call themselves something I would see on a porn) have gone into the streets demanding change from what they see as to MUCH change(god bless america and these idiots). Some have been called racist and others have called them scare of what is to come (THE PUBLIC OPTION, take a moment to calm yourselves of the concept of adequate healthcare). In the end they are a force to watch and while we should laugh at them we should also watch them cause they might just get there way. OMG I need xanax.
6#: The Tiger and the hoes.
Who ever thought Tiger Woods was an angel needs a reality check, present company included. The sad part about it is that with all the tits and ass he’s been playing with he would be just a little bit more CAREFULL. Alas, as the year came to a close we saw whore after whore come forward to tell the Extras and Entertainment Tonight's of the world on who got to tee off with Tiger's club and "balls". In 2010 let us see the total humiliation and stupidity of one man's private stupidity and learn to not put our dicks were they should not belong.
#5: "He called him a...but isn't he..."
Perez Hilton is no stranger to backlash from his comments about celebrities and there "art". But when he faced the Black Eyed Peas at a Canadian version of the Grammy’s after party, he would get the surprise of his life. If he hadn't said those 6 little words...FAGGOT. In the insanity of the most offensive word you can call a gay man; Perez was punch and would later live to talk about on his website, emotional as usual. Now children, what can we learn? We can learn that words can hurt but calling will.i.am a faggot can get you knocked the fuck out, but only to the point where you can blog about it on your website. Were crossing our fingers this happens again. J/K
#4: The neck bite felt around the world.
I wonder how it will be to go to a pre-grammy party, all the people I will meet and all the food that I will eat. It will be the best time of my life. And maybe I’ll get knocked the fuck out and get a bite on my neck to finish the night off. Two things shocked me about this display of domestic ABUSE: the first was division of those that wanted to absolve Chris Brown and those that wanted the same thing done to him that he did to Rihanna. The second was horrific display of young (mostly African American girls) that went of his website, MySpace, etc. and pour there sympathy and support for a man, if you can call him that, that didn't just beat up his girl but in some way beat our girl as well and gave one more excuse to another man to touch someone that we love.
#3: The Wise Latina from the Bronx.
She would work her ass off and get into some of the most prestigious schools in the country and now she would take the helm as the FIRST Latina to be called justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. With her, Sotomayor brings a lifetime of work, hope, and the love of family. To the bench, she brings balance, strength, and balls of steel. I have only one last thing to say: VIVA LA MUJER!!!
#2: The End of an Era, the beginning of another.
Never has one man being the inspiration for so many of today and tomorrows artist. He broke barriers and made magic. He was a generous man, a troubled man, but at the end the day, he was only a man. We will always know him for different reasons, some good and some dad. But no matter how he is remembered he will always be the king of Pop.
Rest in peace, where ever you may be. 1958-2009
#1 The Second coming of Camelot.
On the second to the last day of the 2004 Democratic National Convention, a man running for senate stepped into a podium and for the first time in my generation, made me believe in one America, an America that I could be proud off. Forward 4 years later and on a VERY cold day in January over a million people saw the realization of a dream forged in the Cotton fields of the south, forged in the street of Alabama, and forged in the speeches that asked us to dream and that would not only crack the ceiling of impossibility, but it would completely shatter it into a million pieces. And while other ceiling are yet to be broken, we can stand and see that those ceilings not only have been cracked but soon they will be forever broken. It is no longer a matter of if, but a matter of when.
